smartvote projects

Politools has acquired international experience through the implementation of various smartvote projects abroad. Due to the increasing interest, a new version of the smartvote application was developed that can easily be adapted to a wide range of political contexts (i.e. types of elections, types of political systems, levels of civic education, etc.).

Kosovo 2025

smartvote Kosovo is a project of Kosovo Democratic Institute and Politools. The project was supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Luxembourg Development Cooperation: kosova.smartvote.org


Liechtenstein 2025

In 2017 and 2025 Politools provided a version of smartvote in collaboration with the Liechtenstein-Institut: www.wahlhilfe.li


Austria 2024

Politools developed and implemented the VAA “politikkabine.at” together with the Donau University Krems and other partners from 2007 until 2013. For the national elections 2024, Politools has again provided a version of smartvote in collaboration with the University of Vienna: austria.smartvote.org


European Union 2024

Politools was a member of a consortium that developed a VAA (VoteMatch Europe) for the 2024, 2019 and 2009 EU elections: 2024.smartwielen.lu


Luxembourg 2023

Since 2009, Politools has provided a version of smartvote in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg. For the elections in 2018, 2019 and 2023 the team was joined by the Zentrum for politesch Bildung and the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER): 2023.smartwielen.lu


Tibet 2021

smartvote Tibet was an initiative of the association “Project Democracy”. The smartvote tool was implemented for the Tibetan General Elections 2021: tibet.smartvote.org


Australia 2020

In collaboration with the Australian National University (ANU), Politools provided smartvote for the national elections in 2019, 2014 and 2009 as well as the ACT elections in 2020: act.smartvote.org
